Pretty bad game, full of flaws. I played it out of curiosity. I remember playing Red Faction at a cousin's computer but never made it to the end. I was expecting RF2 to be better but that's not the case. This game is a showcase of destruction physics. Other FPS didn't have GeoMod. The design of this game is flawed. The AI is bad. Weapons with long reload times. Slow life regen that would make the regen in Halo feel like a rocket. Bad level design.

The best part of it was the sniper in the city part, despite the sniper having 200 ammo. I don't know any other game with a sniper rifle with so much ammo.

I finished this game with cheats. The submarine level was so badly designed that I decided to use cheats from that point onwards. The graveyard level was also terrible. The game doesn't tell you that the zombie horde is infinite and the fences block bullets in the air.

Design flaws

You have to guess which structures and walls are destructible and which aren't. In modern standards games make use of guidelines, such as the same metallic panel in Wolfenstein The New Order.

In the fist mission of the game there are red lights that indicate the reactor's core. Except that the red lights are obscured from the player's view.

When you fall down in the underground sewers the valve to raise the water level has the same texture as the pipes, making it hard to notice. The game also doesn't have any highlights or icons pointing at the objective.

When you are battling the enemies coming from above the crater, after the ship crashes down. The game made me think that I was supposed to go up, because the enemies are coming from there. But you can't and that's not the way to go.

In the underground I was trampled by the subway. The train does make a sound, but when you die the camera sits in an angle that does not show the train.

The boss battle inside the cathedral is totally unbalanced. Too hard and too many enemies.

The last boss has a bug. The huge pipe may crush you, causing you to die after you defeat the boss. The game is also deceptive because the boss jumps across the radioactive pit and it makes you believe that you can do it too. The final battle takes place in cramped space without enough room to move around
