Rage 2: Rise of the Ghosts

From Henry's personal library

This is the worst commercial, paid DLC I've ever played. The art direction is worse than in Rage 2. In turn, Rage 2 was worse than Rage.

The geography of the island where the DLC takes place is horrible. No care taken to build a believable terrain, buildings, roads, vegetation or anything in it. Trees planted on top of buildings. The buildings themselves are placed out of the blue and have half built emergency stairs outside. There is no sense of decaying structures, but a sense of poorly built assets just to fill in the void. In Rage 2 the hideouts of the bandits had some sense on them, some theme to follow. In the DLC there is none! The fog is so low quality that it seems to be the same as photoshop's decades old "generate clouds" filter.

Every place to explore in the DLC has a difficulty level of 10. Because the enemies are fast and block bullets with swords. However, you have all the skills and weapons from completing the base game, which renders the DLC a piece of cake.

The plot is uninteresting and uninspired. The villain wants to turn the whole humanity into mutants by creating a rain of feltrine everywhere. I didn't bother to read the datapads because all of them were uninteresting.

The level design is much worse than in Rage 2. Even the blue plastic tarpaulins and the grates were placed with no intention of creating a gameplay's flow or at least some good aesthetics.

In the mission inside the mine there is a really bad bug. One of the objects to be destroyed has a marker where there is nothing but a chasm. I even dropped there to see what would happen. Only death. It's a bug, you just continue to the next core to be destroyed and the mission should be completed.

There is one new weapon, a new skill and a new motorcycle just because it's a DLC. They add nothing valuable to the base game. The final boss battle is too easy.
